In August, CCI/Speer proudly stepped up as the primary corporate sponsor for the LC Valley Habitat for Humanity Women Build initiative. As part of this meaningful partnership, the company organized four dedicated teams, each made of six to eight women, to work alongside the future homeowner at the build site.

With the foundation already laid, the teams tackled essential tasks such as installing drain tiles to divert water from the foundation and back-filling around the foundation walls. Other groups focused on installing the sill seal and plate, constructing the pony wall, and hanging floor joists. Every step brought the home closer to completion.

Throughout August and September, these teams united women from across the CCI/Speer plant, from primer assembly and centerfire to operations, safety, and plant support. Together, the groups of women shared a common purpose: helping a family build a safe, stable place to call home.

During breaks, team members took time to write heartfelt messages on 2x4 boards that will be built into the home’s structure. These notes of encouragement will serve as lasting reminders of the community’s support and care.
