Celebrating NDEAM with Rise

October brings more than just a change of season – it’s also National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), a time to recognize the value of inclusive workplaces and the contributions of employees of all abilities.

NDEAM is a perfect time to celebrate progress, purpose, and the power of inclusive employment, so we wanted to take the opportunity to spotlight a partnership Federal has held for more than 30 years with Rise.

Rise is a nonprofit organization that believes no one should feel limited by their life situation. Their mission is to unlock potential and open doors to success for people with disabilities or other challenges through creative solutions and customized support. With a vision of a progressive, supportive, and collaborative environment, Rise helps individuals live lives filled with purpose.

Their team members – who may be navigating intellectual and developmental disabilities, brain injuries, mental illness, homelessness, or barriers to employment – bring incredible value to the workplace.

At Federal, they’re not just part of the process – they’re part of the team. The Rise team of about 30 individuals comes to Federal’s plant to collaborate and contribute to essential operations. As we celebrate NDEAM, we honor the Rise team for their dedication, resilience, and impact. Their work reminds us that inclusion isn’t just a value – it’s a practice.
